The Benefits of Aerating Your Lawn

CAPITOLA − When it comes to a home’s landscape, there are few things worse than a patchy, unsightly lawn. Preventing this condition often requires supplementary measures to watering, such as fertilization. Another simple and effective way to invigorate your lawn is by using an aerator.

A lawn aerator is a machine that basically punches a bunch of small holes into your lawn. While this may not sound like anything special, it has a useful function: It allows water to penetrate the root bases of the plant material and fertilizer, breaking up the hard pack to ensure the entirety of the lawn gets irrigated. The overall effect of aeration leaves a lawn much healthier and more likely to thrive during the hot summer months.
